Quick Tip: How to Pick a Pineapple

My family loves eating fresh fruit.  Pretty much any kind of fresh fruit.  I know how to pick good apples, good bananas, good kiwis, good peaches– but until this week I always just guessed on pineapples.

Who knew there was a trick?!

So, what I learned about picking pineapples is that you pull on the leaves in the very center of the pineapple’s top and if they pull out easily, you have a great pineapple in your hands.

We ate a pineapple tonight with easy-to-pull leaves and it was de-licious!  Seriously, who knew you could pick a pineapple by its leaves?

  1. That is a great tip! I love fresh pineapple!! 🙂 I also heard if it isn’t green and smells really sweet at the bottom of the pineapple then it is a good pick! 🙂
