Quick Tip: Monthly Letters

When Ladybug was a month old, Hubby and I wrote letters to her in a pink journal I had received as a baby gift before she was born.  We realized it would be a great tradition to write her a letter each time we hit her month birthday– leaving her the priceless treasure of a book full of letters from her mom and dad.

It has been such fun each month to sit down and pen my feelings for her, the funny things she’s done, and the milestones she’s hit.  I hope that one day she enjoys reading our letters as much as we’ve enjoyed writing them for her.

When Stinkbug was born, we bought him a journal of his own, and have done the same thing for him.  Writing a simple letter each month to the kids takes virtually no time, and helps me to reflect on what they’ve been doing to grow and develop.  It’s an easy way to create a precious keepsake!

Even if your child is older, it’s not too late to start writing letters for them!  Buy a journal and start keeping track of those milestones, funny things they say and do, and your feelings for them!
